Zimbabwe Student Launches Affordable Tech Venture at CT University

Demonstrating the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship nurtured at CT University, Bright K, an international student from Zimbabwe pursuing an Honors Degree in Social Work, has launched The Reading Culture Technologies, a venture aimed at making technology more accessible and affordable for students, educators, entrepreneurs, and professionals.

The venture offers laptops, MacBooks, Chromebooks, and technology accessories through flexible purchase, rental, and rent-to-own models, helping bridge the digital divide and ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to education and professional growth.

The launch ceremony was held in the presence of Vice Chancellor Dr. Nitin Tandon and Director, Student Welfare (DSW), Er. Davinder Singh, who appreciated Bright’s entrepreneurial initiative and highlighted CT University’s continued efforts to foster innovation, leadership, and startup culture among students. They emphasized that the University remains committed to providing mentorship, industry exposure, and a supportive ecosystem that enables students to transform innovative ideas into successful ventures.

Congratulating Bright on his achievement, Chancellor Sardar Charanjit Singh Channi said, “Education should empower individuals to become job creators rather than job seekers. Bright’s journey reflects the spirit of innovation, determination, and social responsibility that CT University seeks to instill in its students. We are proud to see an international student creating solutions that can positively impact many lives.”

Pro Chancellor Dr. Manbir Singh remarked, “CT University encourages students to identify real-world challenges and develop meaningful solutions. Bright’s venture is a commendable example of entrepreneurship with a social purpose. His initiative to make technology affordable and accessible aligns with our vision of inclusive growth, innovation, and global impact.”

Speaking about his venture, Bright K shared that access to technology should not be a privilege but an opportunity available to everyone. Through The Reading Culture Technologies, he aims to support learners and professionals by providing affordable access to essential digital devices.

The achievement of Bright K reflects CT University’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship, innovation, and social impact while empowering students from diverse backgrounds to become future leaders and change-makers.
