CT University Hosts Special Guest Lecture and Shri Sukhmani Sahib Path

School: School of Management, Hotel Management and Design

In a spirit of unity and reverence, CT University organized a special event encompassing a guest lecture and the recitation of Sukhmani Sahib Path, bringing together the entire CT University community, including management, faculty, and students. The gathering sought to seek blessings from the Almighty and gain insights into the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

Under the aegis of Guru Nanak Chair, a guest lecture was delivered by renowned Punjabi poet, Dr. Davinder Saifi, on the theme of 'Guru Nanak Dev Ji di Bani Sandesh Ate Sade Farz' (The Message and Our Duties According to Guru Nanak Dev Ji). The Chief Guest commenced the lecture by elucidating the three fundamental principles prescribed by Guru Nanak Dev Ji— "Kirat karo" (earn an honest living), "Naam Japo" (meditate on the divine), and "Vand Chakko" (practice selfless service). Dr. Saifi emphasized the importance of incorporating these principles into one's life to lead a path of honesty, generosity, and spiritual awareness while contributing positively to the community and society at large.

Addressing the audience, Dr. Saifi contextualized the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the present day, drawing attention to their relevance and applicability in the contemporary world. He highlighted the challenges of the present time and demonstrated how Guru Nanak Dev Ji's teachings, encapsulated in the concept of "Sewa" (selfless service), continue to guide and inspire people, transcending religious and cultural boundaries.

Guru Nanak Chair Coordinator, Er. Harwinder Singh Sohal, provided valuable insights into the places associated with Guru Nanak Dev Ji's life, from his birthplace Shri Nankana Sahib to Shri Kartarpur Sahib, where Guru Sahib settled after his missionary work and engaged in farming. Coordinator Dr. Lakhwinder Kaur expressed gratitude to the guest for enriching the audience with special information about Guru Nanak Ji's life and teachings.

In recognition of Dr. Davinder Saifi's contributions, a special memento was presented to him by Chancellor S. Charanjit Singh Channi, Pro Chancellor Dr. Manbir Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Abhishek Tripathi, Dean Academics Dr. Simranjeet Kaur Gill, Coordinator Dr. Lakhwinder Kaur, and Coordinator Er. Harwinder Singh Sohal.

The event fostered a sense of spiritual awareness, unity, and appreciation for the timeless teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, serving as a platform for students to engage and learn from the valuable insights shared by the esteemed guest speaker.
