Chef Kunal Kapur Adds Culinary Charm to Bavarchi Season-2 at CT University

Bavarchi Season-2, a grand Pan-India level cooking competition organised by ChefKala by Nellu Kaura along with Navya Kaura and Kanupriya Kaura, concluded in a spectacular way at CT University, Ludhiana.

The event brought together the best culinary talents from across the nation, celebrating innovation, creativity, and passion for food.

This season witnessed more than 180 participants competing under two categories – Home Cook and Student. After a rigorous first round held at Maharaja Regency, Ludhiana, 31 finalists were shortlisted for the finale at CT University. The highlight of the evening was the presence of Celebrity Chef Kunal Kapur, who not only judged the finale but also interacted with the audience, sharing insightful techniques and tricks from his culinary journey.

The jury panel featured some of the most renowned chefs of India including Chef Sanjeev Verma, Chef Ajay Sood, Chef Ashish Bhasin, Chef Gunjan Goela, Chef Vikas Chawla, Chef Rahul Wali, Dr. Chef Varinder Singh Rana, and Chef Vishavdeep Bali.

Their expertise and valuable feedback added immense credibility to the competition.

The event was further dignified by the esteemed presence of Chancellor, Sd. Charanjit Singh Channi, Pro Chancellor, Dr. Manbir Singh, Rajni Bector (Padma Shri Awardee & Founder of Cremica), Himanshu Jain (Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana), Rashi Aggarwal (President, Mahila Morcha), along with eminent educationists – Veena D’Souza and Maria, Principal and Vice Principal of Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar.

The ceremony began with the traditional lamp-lighting followed by Ganesh Vandana. A highlight of the evening was an entertaining cook-off between Chef Rahul Wali and Chef Vishavdeep Bali, while Chef Kunal Kapur’s lively interaction with the audience kept the hall buzzing with energy.

Adding to the delight, Chef Vikas Chawla delivered a thoughtful talk on the importance of millets in today’s diet. Entertainment was woven into the evening as anchor Sahil Sahni engaged the audience with fun games, and the finale concluded with a spectacular Bhangra performance by CT University students.

The event wrapped up with the felicitation of sponsors, jury members, and special guests, followed by the announcement of winners. With cheer and applause echoing through the auditorium, Bavarchi Season-2 successfully set a new benchmark in the culinary field.

Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain marked his special presence at the event, encouraging young culinary aspirants to explore food as a career and art form. His words inspired participants to push boundaries and take pride in India’s diverse food heritage.

Bavarchi, envisioned by Nellu Kaura, is a platform that celebrates India’s rich food culture by giving home cooks and students an opportunity to showcase their hidden talent on a national stage. With the success of Season-2, the initiative has gained nationwide recognition, continuing its mission to bring culinary innovation and passion together under one roof.
