CT University Marks World Cancer Day, Organises Awareness Drive and Walkathon

School: School of Allied Health Sciences

CT University, through its School of Allied Health Sciences, marked World Cancer Day with a series of impactful awareness activities aimed at promoting cancer prevention, early detection, and healthy lifestyle choices. Demonstrating its strong commitment to community health and social responsibility, the university organized a walkathon, poster presentation, and hospital outreach program involving active student participation.

A walkathon was conducted within the CT University campus and nearby areas of Ludhiana, where students carried informative placards and interacted with the public to spread crucial messages about cancer awareness, preventive measures, and the importance of early diagnosis.

The initiative received an encouraging response from the community and reinforced the role of youth in public health advocacy.

To further enhance academic and creative engagement, a poster presentation was organized, showcasing students innovative and research-driven work on cancer risk factors, prevention strategies, and awareness themes.

The posters reflected not only creativity but also a strong understanding of public health challenges related to cancer.

As part of the World Cancer Day observance, students also visited Mohandai Oswal Hospital, Ludhiana, where they attended an expert talk on modern cancer care.

The session provided valuable insights into advanced diagnostic and treatment modalities, patient management techniques, and the evolving role of allied health professionals in oncology care.

Students were given the opportunity to explore real-time clinical practices, bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical exposure.

The event was graced by the presence of Chancellor, Sardar Charanjit Singh Channi; Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Simranjit Kaur Gill; Registrar, Mr. Sanjay Khanduri; Director of Student Welfare, Er. Davinder Singh, and Principal, School of Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Sampy Duggal, whose encouragement and guidance motivated students throughout the initiatives.

Commenting on the occasion, Chancellor, Sd. Charanjit Singh Channi said:
“Cancer awareness is not limited to one day—it is a continuous responsibility. Through such initiatives, CT University aims to educate society, empower students, and contribute meaningfully to public health. Our students are not just learners but responsible citizens working towards a healthier future.”
