CT UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES THE VIBRANT FASHION EXTRAVAGANZA — THE VASTRA SAGA

School: School of Design and Innovation

CT University’s School of Design and Innovation organized “The VASTRA Saga”, a spectacular inter-college fashion event that celebrated creativity, culture, and consciousness through the powerful theme of Sustainability.

The event turned the spotlight on the growing importance of eco-friendly fashion, blending innovation with responsibility, and artistry with awareness.

From conceptual designs to thought-provoking ramp walks, The VASTRA Saga became a stage where young designers expressed their vision for a sustainable future through fabrics, textures, and mindful aesthetics.

The competition witnessed spirited participation from multiple universities and institutes across North India, showcasing fashion that truly speaks the language of the planet.

Under the guidance of Monu Sharma (Head of School), the dedicated team of the School of Design and Innovation meticulously curated every detail of the event to perfection.

The event was graced by eminent fashion experts Siddharth K. Kakkar and Manleen Sethi, who brought their vast industry experience and critical eye for detail to the judging table.

Their valuable insights and fair evaluation elevated the prestige of the competition, inspiring participants to think beyond conventional fashion boundaries.

After a stunning display of eco-conscious collections, the winners were declared as follows:
First Prize (₹11,000): 
PCTE — for their “Rustful Collection” that beautifully merged texture, tone, and environmental storytelling.

Second Prize (₹5,100): Chandigarh University

Third Prize (₹3,100): 
CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus

Dr. Nitin Tandon, Vice Chancellor, CT University, lauded the event, saying,

“The VASTRA Saga is not just a fashion show — it’s a reflection of our youth’s awareness, creativity, and responsibility towards the environment. CT University continues to nurture such platforms that encourage innovation with purpose.”

Er. Davinder Singh, Director DSW, added,

“Events like The VASTRA Saga highlight how fashion can be both expressive and ethical. Our students are setting a new benchmark for design education and sustainable thinking.”

The winning team from PCTE expressed their gratitude, sharing,

“Participating in The Vastra Saga was an incredible experience. The theme pushed us to rethink design in harmony with nature, and CT University provided the perfect stage to bring that vision alive.”
