CT University Hosts Prestigious 5th Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Nationwide Moot Court Competition 2026 with Pan-India Participation

The School of Law at CT University successfully organized the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Nationwide Moot Court Competition, 2026 from 2nd to 4th April, 2026, marking a significant academic milestone and reinforcing the institution’s commitment to legal excellence and experiential learning.

The three-day national-level competition brought together over 30 teams from prestigious institutions across India, providing a dynamic platform for budding legal professionals to demonstrate their advocacy skills, legal reasoning, and courtroom etiquette.

The event witnessed the participation of more than 50 esteemed advocates from various High Courts and the Supreme Court of India, who served as judges throughout the competition. Their presence ensured a high standard of evaluation and offered invaluable insights, mentorship, and constructive feedback to participants, enriching their learning experience.

Day 1 commenced with an inaugural ceremony held in the esteemed presence of Chief Guest, Advocate Tejasvi Sharma, Additional Advocate General, High Court of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla. The occasion was further graced by Guest of Honour, Dr. Suresh Kumar, Professor and Dean, Career Point University, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, along with Advocate Kanwal Walia, Advocate at the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The ceremony set a dignified tone for the competition, emphasizing the importance of legal education, ethical advocacy, and professional excellence. The inaugural session was followed by preliminary rounds where participants showcased exceptional legal acumen, analytical thinking, and persuasive arguments, with four teams advancing to the quarter-finals.

Day 2 featured the quarter-final and semi-final rounds, where the competition intensified significantly. Participants displayed remarkable dedication, in-depth legal research, and compelling oral submissions, making each round highly competitive and intellectually stimulating. The judges commended the participants for their preparedness, clarity of arguments, and confidence in presenting complex legal issues.

Day 3 marked the grand culmination of the competition with the final round, judged by a distinguished panel of legal experts including Dinesh Verma, District Attorney, Punjab; Adv. IPS Sabharwal, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab & Haryana High Court; Advocate Akhil Kashyap, practicing at the Supreme Court and Punjab & Haryana High Court; Advocate Mandeep Kumar Jethi, District and Sessions Court, Ludhiana; and Advocate Dashwinder Singh. Their expert evaluation added immense credibility and value to the final proceedings, making it a truly enriching experience for all participants.

The results of the competition highlighted the outstanding performances of participating institutions. Amity University Mohali emerged as the Winner, while PURC Ludhiana secured the Runner-Up position. Geeta Institute of Law was awarded Best Researcher, Chandigarh University received the Best Speaker award, and GNDU Regional Centre, Jalandhar was recognized for the Best Memorial.

The event also witnessed the gracious presence of the university’s management, including Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, Registrar Sanjay Khanduri, Director DSW Er. Davinder Singh, and Deputy Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, Arvind Kumar, whose support and encouragement played a vital role in the successful execution of the event.

In his message, Chancellor S. Charanjit Singh Channi lauded the initiative, stating that such competitions are instrumental in shaping the future of legal professionals by providing them with practical exposure and a platform to hone their advocacy skills. He emphasized the university’s dedication to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of excellence in legal education.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Nitin Tandon also appreciated the efforts of the School of Law, highlighting that the moot court competition reflects the university’s vision of bridging academic learning with real-world application. He congratulated all participants and winners, encouraging students to continue striving for excellence and contributing meaningfully to the legal fraternity.
