CT University Successfully Hosts “Big Fish Pool – Season 4

CT University, Ludhiana successfully hosted its flagship startup investment conclave, “Big Fish Pool – Season 4” on 27th March 2026 at its campus, marking a significant milestone in strengthening India’s rapidly growing startup ecosystem. The mega event brought together leading investors, entrepreneurs, industry experts, academicians, and innovation enthusiasts from across the country, creating a dynamic platform to accelerate entrepreneurship, foster innovation, and enable meaningful collaborations.

One of the biggest highlights of the event was a collective investment commitment of ₹15 Crores by 13 prominent investors, showcasing strong confidence in emerging startups and innovative business ideas. This substantial funding initiative reaffirmed the university’s commitment to nurturing young entrepreneurs and supporting them in transforming their ideas into scalable and sustainable ventures.

The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Harjinder Singh Cheema, Founder/Chairman/Managing Director, Cheema Boilers Limited (CBL), whose presence added immense value and inspiration to the platform. His continued support and contribution played a crucial role in strengthening the initiative and encouraging innovation-driven entrepreneurship.

Adding further prestige, the Guest of Honour panel included Bharti Sood (Sr. Regional Director, PHDCCI), CA Sahil Makkar (Managing Director, Punjab Angels Network), and Dr. Sachin Goyal (Academician & Civil Services Mentor, Krishna IAS Coaching), whose presence inspired and motivated aspiring entrepreneurs.

The conclave witnessed participation from more than 30 startups from across India, who presented their innovative ideas and business models across diverse sectors including technology, artificial intelligence, sustainability, healthcare, agritech, fintech, education, and social innovation. These startups pitched before an esteemed panel of investors and industry leaders, opening avenues for funding, mentorship, and strategic partnerships.

The distinguished investor panel included CA Bhagat Singh (Founder & Managing Director, Creston Capital), Gaurav Kundra (CEO, Credmate), Sarbjit Singh Grewal (Founder & CEO, Tekki Web Solutions), Karammvir Rajpal (Head of Startup Partnerships, MSE Technology Dubai), Parteek Bhandari (MD, Pathways Venture LLC, Dubai), Preeti Chaudhary (Founder, Madhya Bharat Angels), Ayush Singhal (CEO, Pinsout), CA Ranjana Soni (Founder, R Soni & Associates), Advocate Aman Maria, Pushnjit Singh Gill (Director, Infinite Opulence Group Ltd), Anant Singh Gill (CEO, Infinite Opulence Group Ltd), and Vikram Palta (Angel Investor), who actively engaged with participating startups and evaluated their potential.

The event also saw the presence of key ecosystem enablers and industry representatives including Keshav Atri (Startup Analyst, Punjab Angels Network), Vishal (CEO, Jugni Innov Foundation), Anil Channa (Business Owner & CTO, Softwiz Infotech), Sukhaman Bath (CEO, DBEE Mohali), Nirmal Chawla (Managing Director, Connect Overseas Immigration Pvt Ltd), and Lalit Kumar Bansal (CA, Bloomrise Ventures Pvt Ltd), who contributed to insightful discussions and ecosystem building.

A key highlight of the event was the felicitation of 15 distinguished personalities with the prestigious “Viksit Bharat Innovation & Ecosystem Leadership Award” in recognition of their exceptional contributions to innovation, entrepreneurship, and ecosystem development. The awards celebrated individuals who have played a transformative role in shaping India’s startup landscape.

Big Fish Pool – Season 4 successfully achieved its objective of creating a powerful platform that enabled funding opportunities for startups, connected entrepreneurs with investors and mentors, promoted innovation-driven entrepreneurship, strengthened the startup ecosystem, and encouraged industry-academia collaboration. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from investors, angel networks, incubators, corporate leaders, faculty members, students, and startup enthusiasts, making it a vibrant hub for collaboration, networking, and knowledge exchange.

The university leadership, including Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, Registrar Sanjay Khanduri, Director DSW Er. Davinder Singh, Director Training and Placement Cell Dr. Pankaj Jain, and Assistant Manager, DSW Kevin Richard and Senior Manager of Training and Placement Cell Gaurav Kapoor graced the occasion and reiterated the institution’s strong commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship.

Chancellor Sardar Charanjit Singh Channi emphasized that such initiatives are instrumental in empowering youth and building a strong, self-reliant India aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat, while Pro-Chancellor Dr. Manbir Singh highlighted that Big Fish Pool has evolved into a powerful platform connecting ideas with opportunities and enabling startups to scale in competitive markets.
