CT University Organises Advanced Rocket Modelling Workshop

School: School of Engineering and Technology

Ludhiana, Punjab: CT University, through its School of Engineering and Technology, under the Robotics and Automation Lab, successfully organised a three-day Advanced Rocket Modelling Workshop in collaboration with Thrust Tech India. The initiative aimed to promote scientific curiosity, practical engineering skills, innovation, and student interest in aerospace technology.

The workshop provided students with hands-on learning experiences in rocket design, aerodynamics, stability, basic propulsion principles, avionics, parachute design, and recovery systems. Participants also gained practical exposure to rocket construction, assembly, testing, and essential safety procedures under expert guidance.

The highlight of the programme was the live rocket launch, during which 15 rockets were successfully launched. The activity generated tremendous enthusiasm among students and attendees, enabling participants to connect theoretical concepts with practical experimentation and witness the real-world application of engineering principles.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Manbir Singh, Pro Chancellor, CT University, said, “At CT University, we believe that education becomes truly impactful when students get the opportunity to transform theoretical knowledge into practical innovation. Initiatives like the Advanced Rocket Modelling Workshop encourage scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and a spirit of experimentation among young engineers. We remain committed to providing our students with hands-on learning experiences that prepare them to contribute meaningfully to emerging fields such as aerospace technology, robotics, and space science.”

Harmeet Singh, Head of the Department of Robotics and Automation, CT University, said, “The workshop provided students with valuable hands-on exposure to rocket design, assembly, testing, and live launches. The successful launch of 15 rockets reflected the enthusiasm and technical engagement of our students. Such practical initiatives strengthen their engineering fundamentals, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities while inspiring them to explore advanced applications of robotics, automation, and aerospace engineering.”

Throughout the programme, students actively participated in technical activities that enhanced their problem-solving abilities, teamwork, analytical thinking, and understanding of aerospace engineering. The workshop encouraged participants to explore emerging technologies and discover future opportunities in rocketry, space science, and advanced engineering.

The collaboration between CT University and Thrust Tech India reflects a shared commitment to experiential learning, technological innovation, and industry-oriented engineering education. Such initiatives enable students to move beyond conventional classroom learning and develop technical competencies through experimentation, creativity, and scientific exploration.

The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to participating students in recognition of their involvement and learning achievements. The successful completion of the programme marks another significant step in CT University’s efforts to foster a culture of innovation, research, and hands-on technical education, inspiring young minds to explore the exciting possibilities of aerospace technology and rocketry.
