About the SEDGs Cell
At CT University, we are deeply committed to fostering
inclusive and equitable education in alignment with the
National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the guidelines
set forth by the University Grants Commission (UGC). To
advance this mission, CT University has introduced the
Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs) Cell.
This Cell is dedicated to empowering students from underrepresented and
marginalized backgrounds by ensuring equal access to academic resources,
support services, and opportunities for holistic development.
Objectives
1. Ensure equal learning and developmental opportunities for students from
socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
2. Promote diversity, inclusion, and accessibility across all university
functions.
3. Foster a supportive environment for academic, financial, and
psychological well-being.
4. Responsibilities of the SEDGs Committee
5. Identify and support SEDG students through academic, financial, and
psychological assistance.
6. Organize bridge courses, mentorship programs, and language labs for
foundational learning.
7. Facilitate “Earn While Learn” initiatives across departments.
8. Conduct outreach and sensitization activities for faculty, staff, and
students.
9. Collaborate with NGOs and community groups to enhance educational
access.
10. Maintain and report relevant data to statutory bodies and university
authorities.
Core Functions

Identification & Support: Assist SEDG students with necessary
academic, psychological, and financial guidance.

Skill Development: Conduct bridge courses, mentorship programs, and
language labs to build foundational learning.

Work-Based Learning: Facilitate “Earn While You Learn” initiatives
across departments.

Outreach Programs: Collaborate with NGOs and community organizations
to widen educational access.

Sensitization Campaigns: Organize workshops and activities to raise
awareness among faculty, staff, and students.

Data Monitoring: Maintain and report relevant progress and outcomes to
statutory and regulatory bodies.
