CT University Emerges Overall Champion at AIU All India Inter University Wushu Championship 2026 with Multiple Gold Medals

CT University continues to make remarkable strides in the field of sports as its Wushu players delivered an exceptional performance at the prestigious AIU All India Inter University Wushu Championship 2026, hosted by University of Kashmir.

The championship witnessed participation from nearly 185 universities and over 1600 athletes from across the country, making it one of the biggest inter-university sporting events in India.

Representing CT University with pride and determination, the Wushu contingent showcased extraordinary talent, discipline, and competitive spirit by securing multiple medals and bringing laurels to the university at the national level.

In the Men’s Category, CT University athletes displayed dominant performances in various weight categories. Lokesh clinched the Gold Medal in the 48 kg weight category, while Sagar secured another Gold Medal in the 56 kg weight category with an impressive display of technique and strength. Adding to the university’s glorious tally, Syed Mohammad Ali Rouf Shah won the Gold Medal in the 70 kg weight category after a series of outstanding bouts. Demonstrating remarkable resilience and sportsmanship, Dheeraj earned the Silver Medal in the 85 kg weight category.

With these stellar performances, CT University was declared the Overall Champion in the Wushu Sanda Men Category, marking a proud achievement for the institution and further strengthening its reputation in university sports.

Adding to the celebrations, the Women’s Category also witnessed a remarkable victory as Sonia secured the Gold Medal in the 45 kg weight category, reflecting the growing strength and excellence of women athletes at CT University.

The university management acknowledged the valuable guidance and constant encouragement provided by Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, Vice Chancellor Dr. Nitin Tandon, and Director DSW Er. Davinder Singh, whose unwavering support played a significant role in boosting the confidence and morale of the players throughout their preparation and participation in the championship.

Expressing his happiness over the outstanding achievement, Pro Chancellor Dr. Manbir Singh congratulated the players and coaching staff for their hard work and dedication. He stated that CT University has always focused on creating a strong sporting culture alongside academic excellence, and these victories are a reflection of the university’s commitment to nurturing talent at national and international levels. He further added that such accomplishments inspire other students to actively participate in sports and bring pride to the institution.

Speaking on the occasion, Sports Head Gurdeep Singh praised the relentless efforts and fighting spirit of the athletes. He highlighted that the players trained with immense dedication and discipline, which ultimately translated into remarkable results at the championship. He also appreciated the continuous support of the university management in providing world-class sports facilities, expert coaching, and motivation to student-athletes.
