CT University Brings Travel & Culture Alive with YATROTSAV

CT University transformed its campus into a vibrant celebration of culture, travel and exploration as the School of Hotel Management, Airlines and Tourism (SOHMAT) organised “यात्रोत्सव – YATROTSAV”, bringing together students and faculty members for an immersive celebration of tourism and India’s rich cultural diversity.

The celebration featured a colourful Cultural Procession, Haryanvi Dance, Group Dance, Fashion Walk, Singing, Bhangra, Debate and Tourism Quiz, giving students a dynamic platform to showcase their talent while exploring the many dimensions of tourism.

The Cultural Procession beautifully reflected India’s diverse traditions, costumes and cultural expressions, while the performances and Fashion Walk added vibrancy to the occasion.

The Tourism Quiz engaged students with questions related to destinations, heritage, hospitality, culture and emerging developments in the tourism sector.

Meanwhile, the Debate on the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Tourism encouraged students to express their perspectives while developing critical thinking, communication and presentation skills.

The celebration also served as an experiential learning opportunity, enabling students to apply their classroom knowledge in event management, teamwork, coordination, communication and cultural tourism.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor, CT University, Dr. Nitin Tandon, said, “यात्रोत्सव – YATROTSAV reflects the true spirit of experiential education, where students learn by participating, creating and engaging with the world around them. Tourism is not merely about destinations; it is about understanding cultures, people and perspectives. Such celebrations provide our students with meaningful opportunities to develop confidence, creativity, teamwork and a broader global outlook.”

Dean, School of Hotel Management, Airlines and Tourism, Dr. Ashish Raina, said, “Through YATROTSAV, we wanted our students to experience tourism as a vibrant combination of culture, hospitality, creativity and learning. The enthusiastic participation of students reflected their talent and their ability to transform academic concepts into engaging real-world experiences.”

The celebration witnessed special efforts and coordination by Dr. Gaurav Bathla, Coordinator, School of Hotel Management, Airlines and Tourism, whose dedicated efforts contributed significantly to the successful execution of the programme.

The theme “यात्रोत्सव – YATROTSAV” captured the essence of a journey—to travel, explore, discover and connect. Through this celebration, CT University reinforced its commitment to creating learning experiences that go beyond conventional classrooms and help students develop into confident, culturally aware and industry-ready professionals.

The event concluded with appreciation for all students, faculty members, organisers and contributors whose collective efforts made यात्रोत्सव – YATROTSAV a memorable celebration of culture, creativity and the spirit of exploration.
