CT UNIVERSITY Hosts 2nd International Conference on Multidisciplinary Approaches for Sustainable Development (ICMASD–2026)

The Research and Development Cell of CT University successfully organized the 2nd International Conference on Multidisciplinary Approaches for Sustainable Development (ICMASD–2026), bringing together eminent academicians, policymakers, researchers, and students from India and across the globe for a two-day intellectual congregation dedicated to sustainable growth and innovation.

The conference was graced by the distinguished Chief Guest, Dr. Baljit Kaur, Cabinet Minister, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities, Social Security and Women and Child Development, Government of Punjab.

The Special Guest of Honour was MLA, Jagraon, Sarabjit Kaur Manuke.

The Guests of Honour included Dr. Rattan Singh, Vice Chancellor of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University; Dr. Mahavir Singh, Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University; Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of DAV University; Vinod Singh Yadav, Deputy Secretary of the University Grants Commission; and the Former Vice Chancellor of Chandigarh University, currently serving as Executive Director, GCC School Gurugram and National Director, ATMC, Australia.

The event also witnessed the esteemed presence of international guests including Dr. Faridah Hj Hassan from Universiti Teknologi MARA; Dr. Dalwinder Kaur, Head of Research and Academic Collaboration at GlobalNxt University; Dr. Kingsley Lyonga Ngange from University of Buea; and Dr. Varinder Singh Rana from City University Ajman.

ICMASD–2026 witnessed participation from more than 600 presenters and over 100 national and international resource persons across four multidisciplinary tracks. Day 1 featured engaging panel discussions and vibrant presentation sessions that facilitated meaningful deliberations on innovative strategies for sustainable development. To recognize academic excellence and encourage emerging scholars, the University conferred the Young Researcher Award, Best Oral Presentation Award, and Best Poster Presentation Award, celebrating outstanding research contributions.

Day 2 continued with the same thematic tracks while expanding into online sessions, enabling broader global participation and ensuring inclusivity in academic exchange. The conference provided immense benefits to students by enhancing their research exposure, fostering international collaboration, and offering a platform to present their ideas before distinguished scholars and experts.

The event was graced by the presence of Chancellor Charanjit Singh Channi, Pro Chancellor Dr. Manbir Singh, Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Simranjeet Kaur Gill, and Registrar Sanjay Khanduri.

The Organising Committee was led by Dr. Simranjeet Kaur Gill, along with Davinder Singh, Director Student Welfare; Dr. Satvir Singh, Assistant Dean, Research and Development Cell; and Dr. Ashish Raina, Dean, School of Hotel Management and Tourism.

Addressing the gathering, Chancellor Charanjit Singh Channi emphasized that sustainable development requires collaborative research, innovative thinking, and active youth participation. He stated that such international platforms strengthen academic ecosystems and prepare students to contribute meaningfully to national and global progress.

Pro Chancellor Dr. Manbir Singh appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Research and Development Cell and highlighted that multidisciplinary research and global academic partnerships are essential pillars of contemporary higher education.
