  • Able to help the Anaesthesiologist in administering Anaesthesia, assist in various procedures and also help in continuous monitoring of patients during surgery.
  • To prepare skilled paramedical human resources for all levels of the healthcare delivery system from primary to tertiary care level. 
  • Able to assist Anaesthesiologists in developing and making patient Anaesthesia care plans, including pre-operative, surgical Theatre, recovery room, and post-operative intensive care procedures.
  • Able to do patient data collection, catheter insertion, airway management, assisting the administration and monitoring of regional and peripheral nerve blockades, support therapy, adjusting anaesthetic levels during surgery, inter-operative monitoring, postoperative procedures, pain clinics and patient education, and administrative tasks.
  • To train the students to carry out necessary procedures accurately and to facilitate proper diagnosis and prognosis of diseases.
  • To enable to operate and maintain all types of equipment used in the concerned specialization.
  • To make capable to support advanced testing activities and Research.
  • To enable to work as Supervisor/Trainer/Teacher in the field of Paramedical sciences.
  • To be able to present oneself in an ethical and professional manner.
  • To equip the paramedical staff with modern skills and knowledge to bring them at par with other national and international standards.

Programme Specific Outcomes

  • The Course prepares the Anaesthesia Technologist to work as a competent, reliable member of the health care team under the guidance and supervision of doctors in the delivery of patient care, training also focuses on the knowledge and skills of monitoring infection control policy and procedures in the operating theatre.
  • Expertise in Assisting the Anaesthesiologists with all procedures in the conduct of anaesthesia. 
  • Expertise in Handling and maintaining all equipment and monitors used in anaesthesia. 
  • Detailed knowledge in Handling all medications used in anaesthesia. 

Salient Features

  • To prepare graduates with understanding the fundamentals of discipline, professionalism, ethics, layout and equipment’s in operation theatre which includes preparing and maintaining operation theatre & equipment’s used in Anaesthesia.
  • Students will understand the role and scope of the Anaesthesia Technology in the healthcare setting with respect to preoperative and postoperative care of the patient.
