CT University Hosts Its 1st International Folklore Fiesta

CT University proudly organized the 1st CT University International Folklore Fiesta, a vibrant cultural extravaganza that brought together global rhythms, traditional artistry, and community spirit.

Presented by the Punjab Cultural Promotion Council, India, and led by Festival Director Dr. Davinder Singh Chhina, the fiesta showcased the rich diversity of world folklore through powerful dance performances and cross-cultural expressions.

The audience was captivated by the Palma Africana Dance School, whose electrifying and soulful performance echoed the heartbeat of audience.

Blending rhythmic drumming, expressive movements, and high-energy choreography, the troupe transported spectators.

Adding to the global spectrum of the celebration, the Colombian Dance Group, performing as the Star Attraction, delivered a vibrant, high-octane showcase filled with dynamic footwork, colorful costumes, and infectious energy.

Their musical performance later in the evening elevated the atmosphere even further, leaving the crowd cheering for more.

The fiesta also celebrated India’s cultural heritage with powerful and graceful presentations of Giddha and Bhangra, showcasing Punjab’s traditional vibrancy.

Alongside this, mesmerizing performances by teams from Colombia, Malawi, Liberia, and South India added more cultural layers, each bringing their unique rhythms, costumes, and storytelling traditions to the stage.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including CT University Chancellor, S. Charanjit Singh Channi; Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Simranjeet Kaur Gill; and Registrar, Mr. Sanjay Khanduri, who applauded the initiative for fostering global cultural understanding.

Vice Chairman, Harpreet Singh, appreciated the event, stating that the fiesta perfectly reflects CT University’s commitment to promoting multicultural harmony and offering students a platform to experience global artistry.

Director, DSW, Er. Davinder Singh, expressed that such events enrich the campus atmosphere and provide students invaluable exposure to international cultures, traditions, and performing arts.

Festival Director Dr. Davinder Singh Chhina emphasized that the Punjab Cultural Promotion Council remains dedicated to building cultural bridges across nations. He appreciated CT University for hosting a meaningful celebration that united diverse communities under one vibrant cultural umbrella.
