The visit provided students with insights into therapeutic approaches, special education methods, and the importance of family support systems in rehabilitation.

2. Objectives of the Programme
● To provide students with firsthand exposure to the functioning of a specialized centre working for children with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and Down Syndrome.

● To bridge the gap between theoretical learning and field realities in social work and clinical psychology practice.

● To sensitize future professionals towards the challenges faced by children with special needs and their families.

● To encourage student interaction with experts in the field and foster professional learning.

3. Programme Schedule
The programme began with a welcome session by the staff of DARPAN (Centre for Autism), followed by an introductory talk about the vision and services of the organization. The resource person, Mr. Niranjan Kumar, delivered an insightful session on Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and Down Syndrome, emphasizing early detection, intervention strategies, and inclusive education. Students were then given a guided tour of the centre, where they observed therapy sessions, special education classes, and recreational activities designed for children with special needs.
