From Theory to Practice: Mastering Accounting with TallyPrime

School: School of Management Studies

The School of Management Studies successfully conducted a Practical Accounting and Tally Workshop on 3rd March 2026 in Lab 6, engaging 100 students through two batches of one hour each. The workshop was designed to provide hands-on exposure to computerized accounting and bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical application. The session was led by Ms. Shivani Bhardwaj, Technical Faculty (Accounts & Finance), who guided students on using TallyPrime for recording financial transactions, creating accounts, managing banking entries, and generating financial statements. Students were also introduced to payroll management, including employee records, salary processing, and payroll calculations. Through interactive demonstrations and practical exercises, participants gained real-world insights into accounting practices and developed essential technical skills required in finance and accounting careers. Overall, the workshop enhanced students’ proficiency in accounting software, strengthened their practical knowledge, and boosted their confidence and employability, preparing them for professional roles in the finance domain.
