It also builds entrepreneurial thinking and business skills for those who wish to become self-employed or start their own beauty venture.

Industry Immersion

The industry immersion component of a Diploma in Beauty & Wellness goes beyond foundational exposure and offers students a focused, hands-on experience within the professional beauty and wellness sector. During this immersion, learners engage with advanced beauty treatments, observe professional techniques, and interact directly with clients under supervision. They may also gain exposure to retail beauty operations, wellness consultation, and cosmetic product handling. In addition, workshops and seminars provide valuable insights into trends like organic skincare, spa innovations, and aesthetic tools.

1ST SEMESTER SUBJECTS

Provides foundational skills in beauty illustration, drawing, colour theory and shading. It develops creativity through beauty motifs, patterns and decorative compositions.

Provides practical knowledge of skin analysis, facial care and professional skin treatments with an introduction to AI-assisted skincare applications. It focuses on safe product selection, treatment techniques, hygiene and client aftercare.

Provides an introduction to the fundamentals of beauty therapy, skin, hair and nail care. It focuses on professional hygiene, client consultation and safe execution of basic beauty treatments.

Provides hands-on training in threading, waxing, bleaching, manicure and pedicure services. It focuses on professional techniques, hygiene, client consultation and safety practices.

Provides an understanding of hair structure, growth, scalp conditions and basic hair-care practices. It focuses on shampooing, conditioning, scalp care and fundamental styling techniques.

Provides practical training in hair and scalp analysis, shampooing, conditioning and scalp massage. It also develops skills in the safe and effective use of thermal styling tools.

Students will submit a project based on the knowledge and skills learned throughout the semester, demonstrating their understanding and practical application of the concepts covered.

DEPARTMENTAL ELECTIVE - I

Provides an understanding of salon and spa operations, services and professional standards. It focuses on SOPs, inventory, human resources, financial planning and effective business management.

Provides basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology relevant to beauty and wellness practices. It focuses on the structure and functions of body systems and their connection with beauty treatments.

2ND SEMESTER SUBJECTS

Provides knowledge of facial treatments, skin analysis and facial care for different skin types and conditions. It focuses on basic, advanced and specialized facial treatments and appropriate skin-care practices.

Provides hands-on training in basic, intermediate, advanced and specialized facial treatments. It focuses on skin analysis, facial equipment, natural skincare, facial masks, hygiene and post-treatment care.

Provides an introduction to professional makeup, skin preparation, colour theory and product selection. It focuses on developing basic makeup techniques for different skin tones, finishes and occasions.

Provides practical training in professional makeup application, skin preparation, brow shaping and colour selection. It focuses on creating different makeup looks while maintaining professional hygiene and client requirements.

Provides an understanding of the relationship between nutrition, hydration and healthy skin. It focuses on essential nutrients, healthy eating habits, dietary factors affecting skin conditions and nutrition-based approaches for skin wellness.

Provides advanced skills in beauty illustration, mehndi, nail art, eye makeup and decorative design. It focuses on creative compositions, thematic projects and professional portfolio development.

Students will submit a project based on the knowledge and skills learned throughout the semester, demonstrating their understanding and practical application of the concepts covered.

DEPARTMENTAL ELECTIVE - II

Provides an understanding of management principles, planning, decision-making, leadership and communication. It also focuses on material management and supply-chain operations in business.

Provides knowledge of haircutting principles, hair design, cutting tools, angles and sectioning techniques. It focuses on precision cutting, thermal styling, hair analysis and professional haircut planning.

Provides hands-on training in professional haircutting, sectioning, cutting angles and hair styling techniques. It focuses on developing precision, tool handling, client consultation and safe salon practices.

Provides practical training in manicure, pedicure, spa and luxury nail-care services. It also introduces freehand nail art, French, ombre, marble, floral, geometric, festive and bridal designs.
