5TH SEMESTER SUBJECTS

This course introduces the principles and applications of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. It covers refrigeration cycles, refrigerants, compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion devices, psychrometry and basic air-conditioning systems.

This course introduces the principles of mechanisms and machines used for transmitting and controlling motion. It covers kinematics of mechanisms, velocity and acceleration analysis, gears, flywheels, governors, brakes and balancing.

This course covers the construction, operation and major systems of automobiles. It includes engines, transmission, steering, suspension, braking, electrical systems, vehicle safety and emission control technologies.

CO2. Classify and explain the various types of Steering system and brakes
CO3. Gain the knowledge about suspension system, Dynamo and Alternator.

This laboratory provides practical exposure to automobile components and systems. Students study engine, transmission, steering, suspension, braking and electrical systems and perform basic inspection and maintenance activities.

This course introduces computer-aided drafting techniques for preparing engineering drawings. It covers CAD tools, 2D drafting, dimensioning, geometric construction, sectional views and basic 3D modelling of mechanical components.

CO1: Use AutoCAD for 2D drafting, including creation, editing, dimensioning, and annotations.
CO2: Prepare detailed and assembly mechanical drawings using CAD tools.
